Of Special Note - The flame hawkfish is a great addition to any aquarium, but it might eat small shrimp. This species prefers a tank size of at least 30 gallons in order to provide adequate swimming room. It will feed on meaty foods including live shrimp and chunks of other crustaceans.
The flame hawkfish likes to dwell on the bottom of the tank and may present a danger to smaller fish such as blennies and gobies that also live in that area. Overall, the difficulty of caring for this species is not very high.
