Of Special Note - The Chalk Bass has striking coloration and is a relatively popular fish. Multiple fish of this species can be kept in the same aquarium if added at the same time. It should not bother other fish, but they may attack small shrimp.

As a carnivore, this fish likes to eat meaty fares. It will eat everything from flake food to mysid shrimp and frozen meaty foods. It likes plenty of rockwork and caves to hide in when scared and sleeping. It should be kept in an aquarium of at least 30 gallons.
