Rhyssa Lineolata - Ichneumon

Length - 10 to 17 mm.

Recognition - Black body with white spots and reddish orange legs.

Habitat - Wooded Areas

Behavior - Predator

Residency - United States

Of Special Note - The female lays eggs by drilling into wood and then using an ovipositor to deposit the eggs deeps within the wood. The ichneumon is regarded as highly beneficial to pest control.
