People Who Make It Happen

A lot of people have helped to make this website a success by contributing content and performing services. I would like to thank all the people who have and continue to contribute content. I would also like to thank the forum moderators (Lothar and fstroupe) who work hard to keep the forum running smoothly. Lastly, I would like to thank BJW for helping me to learn php and providing the framework for the SQL database, as well as veryevil, who singlehandedly converted 2000+ html files into entries in the database and coded the schematic archive! Without all of these people, this website would not be what it is today.

Security

The databases for this website are backed up daily in multiple locations. This provides a very low probability of data loss in the event of a system failure or security breach. The operating system runs automatic daily security updates to ensure that it is secure from the latest exploits. Passwords are also changed monthly for the databases and server. Anyone that would want to destroy a reference website like this one would have to be a total asshole anyways.

Who to Contact

If you have comments, suggestions, questions, complaints, insults, hate mail, content to submit, or anything else, feel free to send it to jsdratm@hotmail.com. I am always open to criticism and like to hear from people who come to this website. If you have technical questions, I recommend using the forum, but I am willing to answer them via email as well.

Copyrights

As with all websites, there is a risk of copyright infringement. If any content on this website is yours, copyrighted, and you want it removed, please email the webmaster at jsdratm@hotmail.com indicating what page(s) are copyrighted and you would like removed and it will be done immediately. If there is copyright infringement, we can only give our most sincere apologies and remove it upon notification. The Free Information Society uses mainly user-submitted content and attempts to verify that the information is available freely online legally before posting it. If you would like to leave the information up, but would like to be credited, please notify the webmaster. We refuse all user-submitted information that is obviously copyrighted and work hard to make sure that all content on the website is legal. We take all legal matters very seriously.

Illegal Usage of Information

The Free Information Society provides information, but does not condone the usage of this information to build illegal devices or perform any illegal activities. Our philosophy on abuse of information is that the individual makes the choice. We don't put HERFs in people's hands and encourage them to destroy electronic devices, the individuals would make that choice. Thus, the Free Informaiton Society disclaims all responsibility for the actions of those who access our website. If you are thinking about using the information provided here in an illegal fashion, think again! By accessing this website you claim all responsibility for what you choose to do, if anything, with the knowledge you gain. The information is provided only for those who seek to understand how things work and those that do not wish to use the information in an illegal manner. The Free Information Society takes no responsibility in any way, shape, or form if any of our visitors do not heed this rule. Also note that many of the information explains how to construct things that are potentially harmful to you or yourself. If you do not know the proper precautions for the construction and usage of something, do some research or seek help if you still want to attempt to build it. Electricity is a very dangerous force and should not be played with by the unknowledgable. Some of our electrical circuit schematics in our schematic archive describe the construction of devices that could be considered dangerous and contain potentially fatal electrical charges, such as the ion ray gun and herf. Proceed with extreme caution and the responsibility for what you do with the information we provide is purely on your shoulders. We do not promote the usage of such devices in an illegal or destructive manner.

The Free Information Society's Financial Status

This website used to be losing money, but it now makes a tidy profit. This money is used to pay server costs and fund projects. For revenue information, you can look at our balance sheet.
