I have a friend who was worried that she may have gonorrhea.  I guess that she heard that her boyfriend had given it to another girl, and she was really worried.  I told her to call her gynecologist, and she said that she did, but that she couldn’t get in to see her for two days and that she was sacred now.  We decided to go online to look for gonorrhea pictures.

Let me tell you, some really scary stuff turns up on the search results list when you type that one in!  It took us an hour to find a website that had the actual information about gonorrhea that we were searching for.  We went to Healthline.com and learned that it is a search engine for health topics and it’s designed to be used by health consumers.

We looked up treatment for gonorrhea on Healthline.com and it turned out a bunch of doctor-reviewed articles and more.  We were really impressed with the quality of information, and how easy it was to use.  We didn’t need to know any medical terms to find what we were looking for, and Healthline.com made search suggestions so that we could broaden and narrow our searches as we pleased.

We next searched for gonorrhea symptoms and we were directed to a HealthMap, which was a really cool diagram about the STD.  It was a flow chart and we could click on any of the boxes to obtain additional information on the various topics.

Now that we know so much more about gonorrhea, my friend is not so worried about it.  She is keeping her appointment and she says that when gynecologists can’t see their patients right away, they should refer them to Heathline.com.
