Mozzarella Sticks Recipe
1 brick of mozzarella cheese
1 cup of bread crumbs
Take the brick of cheese and cut it into thick, long chunks. Crack the egg and scramble it in a small bowl. Dump the bread crumbs into another bowl and set a plate at the end of this assembly line of sorts.
Take each stick of cheese and dip it into the egg, coating it thoroughly. Once coated with egg, roll the stick in the bread crumbs, which should stick to it and coat it fairly evenly. You can repeat the process for a thicker coat, but it is rather difficult to get a thick layer using bread crumbs. Lay each of the sticks on the plate at the end and stick it in the freezer for 10 minutes to cool.
Take a small pan or pot and pour enough vegetable oil into it so that it will cover a mozzarella stick when placed in there. Turn up the heat until the oil is boiling and fry the mozzarella sticks several at a time for about 5 seconds. It is best to place them onto a paper towel when they are finished frying in order to soak up the extra oil.
Allow the sticks to cool a short while before eating them, you can freeze them to eat later if you wish. Once they are done, they should look something like this:
